Right from planning to handing over the keys at final completion, we do it all.

We give clients the comfort of checking into the project at their own desire and continuing on with their lives, whether it be at work, around the globe, at the beach or golf course, we take care of your home and project while you take care of what you need to.

We complete Additions, Renovations, and New Home Builds as well as seasonal eavestrough services.

Each projects is custom and we meet with our clients to see what their needs and wants are. 

Through planning and consultation we  bring your dream to reality. 

Whether it be a small deck to complete a backyard oasis or a new 4000 sq. ft home to inhabit a growing family, we tailor and complete each projects for the clients’ needs.

Short answer we DO NOT.  The plumbing, electrical, and HVAC trades are very complex and ever changing ones.  Licensed pros that are continuously getting updates and upgrading skills are the best for this type of work.

We do have a group of licensed sub-trade professionals that we have built a strong reputation/relationship with.  They know are expectations and are trusted individuals on are projects/sites. 

We believe that by using these same trusted contractors that we receive a product that repeatedly meets our expectations on time, and on budget more frequently.

No.  The reason you are hiring a qualified contractor like ourselves is so that we control and perform the job so that you don’t have to.  That’s what you’re paying us for. 

We will get the contract/project completed and take care of the day-to-day activities, and allow you to focus on the things you need or want to do.

We mostly cover the territory from Port Elgin to Wiarton to Owen Sound,  Meaford, Holland Centre, and Williamsford.  We will travel further when required, but this is our main repetitive area.

We will if we are asked or if we need to, but we typically do these projects during the off season (Mid-September – Mid-May). 

We believe in this for several reasons. You are mainly paying for this property for those warm summer months so your better to use them for your relaxation, than for construction or a project. 

The project can be completed while you are using the property less or not at all.  This leads  to less interruption, traffic and occupancy. The streets are less busy for travelling and parking, less neighbours on holidays trying to relax, and less chance of interruption.

Again, we will do it but from our past experience, we have found it better to complete the project during the off-season.

With our use of the Buildertrend App you’ll be able to check in on the progress from your Primary Home, Office, on anywhere you and your smartphone/tablet are in real-time just like being right on site. It’ll be like meeting right on site without the time on the road and/or traffic any time you like.

We currently have four full-time contractors and one part-time contractor.  We can adapt to what/when the projects needs are. 

We can have one contractor doing a small job or item, have 2-3 completing a small/medium project, or put all our help one project to accomplish a large job or blitz a project ahead if required.

I myself, James Rouse have been in the construction industry most of my life.  I come from 3 generations of Custom Home Builders. 

My Great-Grandfather was a Custom Home Builder and in his later years the Building Inspector for the former Township of Sarawak (Georgian Bluffs). 

My Grandfather, who I spent much time with on-site was a Custom Home Builder as well.  I would often go with him or spend many days of my summer on-site learning the trade and working my way up the jobs of a young carpenter. 

I started full-time in Carpentry 15 years ago working for another Contractor after the passing of my Grandfather and 11 years ago started James Rouse Custom Builder Ltd. and continued on my own path. 

Since then, we have completed many custom projects of all sizes and would be happy to work on yours.
